CDL A Truck Driver

J&R Schugel seeks a reliable CDL A Truck Driver (1099) to haul manufactured goods in support of Honeywell's diverse product lines. As an independent contractor, you'll run regional and long-haul routes, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries while strictly following DOT regulations and company safety standards. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, accurate log and load documentation, and professional interaction at customer sites. You'll use ELDs, plan efficient routes, secure freight, and maintain your tractor in roadworthy condition while enjoying consistent freight and growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL A tractor-trailer safely on regional and long-haul routes
• Transport manufactured goods on schedule while complying with DOT regulations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings
• Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and delivery documentation
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and load status
• Secure loads properly and verify counts and conditions of freight
• Follow company safety policies and report incidents immediately
• Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations
• Assist with basic truck maintenance checks (fluids, tires, lights)
• Adhere to 1099 contractor requirements and manage own time and records
