CDL A Truck Driver

J&R Schugel seeks a professional CDL A Truck Driver to support manufacturing freight operations. In this 1099 contract role, you will transport goods between plants, warehouses, and customer locations, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant deliveries. Responsibilities include operating late-model equipment, conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, managing logs, securing freight, and following all DOT and company safety standards. You'll coordinate closely with dispatch, use in-cab technology, and represent the company professionally at every stop.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL A tractor-trailers to transport manufactured goods safely and on time
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required logs
• Comply with DOT, company safety policies, and all applicable regulations
• Coordinate routes, schedules, and delivery requirements with dispatch
• Secure cargo properly and verify load accuracy and documentation
• Communicate effectively with customers and facility staff during pickups and deliveries
• Report vehicle issues, incidents, or delays promptly to management
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
• Use in-cab technology and routing systems per company standards
• Represent the company professionally on the road and at customer sites
