Vantor is seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and reliability of PostgreSQL databases powering modern web and data-driven solutions. You will own schema design, indexing strategies, and performance tuning for large, mission-critical workloads in the cloud. Working closely with software engineers and architects, you'll integrate PostgreSQL into scalable application architectures, automate deployments and migrations, and ensure robust backup, recovery, and high availability. In Vantor's collaborative, low-ego culture, you'll mentor teammates, contribute to agile delivery, and continuously refine database best practices for impactful client projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for high-performance web applications
  • Develop and tune complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
  • Implement scalable schemas, indexing strategies, and partitioning for large data sets
  • Ensure database security, reliability, backup, and recovery strategies in cloud environments
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to integrate databases into modern application stacks
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement proactive improvements
  • Automate database deployment, migrations, and configuration using Dev
  • Ops practices
  • Support agile delivery, code reviews, and best practices for data access and modeling
