GE Vernova seeks a Hardware Engineer to design, test, and industrialize hardware for advanced power and grid solutions that support the global energy transition. In this role, you will translate system and safety requirements into robust high-voltage and control hardware, create schematics and PCB layouts, run simulations, and execute validation and reliability testing. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and compliance targets while operating safely in demanding utility and renewable environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop hardware for power, grid, and electrification products from concept through release
- Create schematics, select components, and oversee PCB layout for high-reliability systems
- Run circuit simulations and analysis to ensure safety, performance, and compliance with grid standards
- Plan and execute hardware validation, environmental, and reliability testing
- Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate and industrialize designs
- Translate customer, regulatory, and safety requirements into clear hardware specifications
- Support design for manufacturability and cost optimization for volume production
- Investigate and resolve hardware issues from lab testing, field feedback, and commissioning
- Document design, test plans, and results to meet internal quality and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in energy and grid hardware architectures
