Stroke Neurohospitalist

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Neurohospitalist with Stroke coverage for locum tenens positions in central Alabama, starting in September. This role involves 12-hour onsite shifts and night call, including tele-stroke coverage for multiple locations. The facility is a Designated Primary Stroke Center, offering an engaging opportunity for a qualified professional.

Practice Info

• Will be onsite physically at one location only + cover tele-stroke at a few other locations in tandem
• Average 20-25 patients seen daily (average of 3-6 tele-stroke calls)
• Tele calls will vary depending on severity of case (more severe will require video calls and less will be phone calls)
• Inpatient APP Support during the weekdays (M-F) from 8:30A-5P generally
• Designated Primary Stroke Center

Responsibilities

• Cover Stroke Call
• Cover tele-stroke at a few other locations in tandem
• Handle ER calls & Emergencies

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour onsite coverage from 7A-7P Monday - Sunday
• Night call from 7P-7A doing tele-stroke call for multiple locations
• 100% inpatient followed by call (ER calls & Emergencies)
• 10 hours per day followed by call

Requirements

• Required: Active Alabama license or IMLC (can process within 24-48 hours once letter of designation is issued through the Compact)
• ACLS + BLS Certification required
• Board Certification required (will accept Board Eligible if within 2 years of training)
• Must be able to cover Stroke Call
• Strong preference for Vascular Neurology training and/or fellowship
