Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Rheumatologist to join their well-established, full-service Rheumatology department at Marshfield Medical Center - Eau Claire. This role offers a collegial environment with dedicated support staff, focusing on diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with various rheumatic diseases. Physicians are encouraged to engage in medical education and research to contribute to patient care, research, and educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with arthritis and rheumatic diseases such as connective tissue diseases, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Osteoarthritis, and Osteoporosis.
  • Perform procedures including ultrasound guided needle aspirations, diagnosis, and treatment of bone density.
  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Provide consultative services.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with diseases of the joints, muscles, bones, and tendons.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine or Pediatric residency program.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Rheumatology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Board Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application but fellowship completed within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing a fellowship log (for recent fellowship graduates) OR a quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • If not applying directly out of a fellowship, must demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
  • If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
