Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible neurologist to lead the transition to a neurohospitalist program in Bismarck. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a significant impact on patient lives across a broad referral base. The successful candidate will also have the chance to obtain an academic appointment at UND School of Medicine and Health Services.

  • Collaborative practice of 4 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners
  • Primary Plus Stroke Center Certification

  • Opportunity to obtain an academic appointment at UND School of Medicine and Health Services with the opportunity to educate medical students and family medicine residents

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit (if applicable to the setting)
  • Provide consultative services
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
