Giant Eagle is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our Food & Beverage Operations within the Warehouse & Manufacturing department. In this role, you will receive, store, pick, and stage products to ensure accurate and timely distribution to our stores. You'll operate material-handling equipment, follow food safety and quality standards, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Working in a collaborative, team-focused environment, you'll help keep shelves stocked for our customers while growing your skills with a company committed to innovation, respect, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming food and beverage shipments against documentation
  • Pick, pack, and stage store orders using scanners or warehouse management systems
  • Rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize shrink and waste
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment safely
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse aisles and storage areas
  • Follow food safety, temperature control, and OSHA safety guidelines
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy, reporting discrepancies or damage
  • Load and unload trucks on schedule to support timely store deliveries
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to resolve operational issues
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for safety, accuracy, and efficiency

Required Skills

  • Order picking and packing
  • Basic inventory control
  • Use of handheld scanners or warehouse management systems
  • Operation of pallet jacks and basic material-handling equipment
  • Understanding of food safety and product rotation (FIFO)
  • Basic math for counts and verification
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and documentation
  • Time management and ability to meet productivity goals
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
  • Basic OSHA safety and safe lifting practices
  • Teamwork and effective communication in a warehouse setting
