Automotive Technician

Cox Automotive is seeking an Automotive Technician for its Manheim operation in Fontana, CA. In this on-site role, you'll perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of auction and fleet vehicles to ensure safety, quality, and sale readiness. Responsibilities include brake and suspension work, engine and electrical diagnostics, basic mechanical repairs, and accurate documentation in shop systems. You'll collaborate with lane, reconditioning, and operations teams, follow strict safety and quality standards, and support efficient vehicle flow in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose auction and fleet vehicles for mechanical and safety issues
• Perform repairs on brakes, suspension, engine, drivetrain, and basic electrical systems
• Complete preventative maintenance and reconditioning services to prepare vehicles for sale
• Use diagnostic tools and shop equipment to identify and resolve faults efficiently
• Document all work performed in shop management systems with accurate notes and codes
• Collaborate with operations and lane teams to support timely vehicle flow through the auction
• Adhere to Cox Automotive and Manheim safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle tools and equipment
