General Service Auto Technician

Cox Automotive is seeking a General Service Auto Technician in Hayward, CA to perform inspections, routine maintenance, and light repairs on a variety of vehicles supporting our remarketing and retail operations. In this role, you'll diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues, complete oil changes, brake and tire services, fluid exchanges, and safety checks while following manufacturer and company standards. You'll accurately document findings, use modern diagnostic tools, and work closely with service and operations teams in a fast-paced, people-first environment that values integrity, training, and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid services
• Conduct multi-point inspections and basic safety checks on vehicles
• Diagnose and repair minor mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform brake service, tire mounting and balancing, and alignment checks as directed
• Use diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer and Cox Automotive procedures
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and inspection findings
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the shop
• Collaborate with service advisors and operations teams to meet turnaround times
• Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance standards
• Support continuous improvement and participate in training and development
