Apprentice Teacher

Uncommon Schools seeks an Apprentice Teacher to support high-quality, college-preparatory instruction in our K-12 classrooms. As an Apprentice Teacher, you will work closely with a lead teacher to deliver rigorous lessons, support small-group instruction, and maintain a structured, joyful classroom environment. You will assist with grading, data collection, and analysis to drive student achievement. Through frequent coaching, observations, and professional development, you will build the skills and knowledge to grow into a full-time teaching role while advancing educational equity in underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers with daily instruction, small-group work, and one-on-one student support
• Assist with classroom management to maintain a structured, joyful, and safe learning environment
• Prepare and organize materials, technology, and resources for lessons and activities
• Support grading, data collection, and analysis to inform instruction and student interventions
• Participate in coaching, observations, and professional development sessions
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support school culture, routines, and family communication
• Model Uncommon Schools' mission, equity-focused values, and high expectations for all students
