Uncommon Schools seeks a High School History Teacher to deliver rigorous, college-preparatory instruction to students in underserved communities. You will design engaging, standards-aligned lessons in U.S. and world history, foster a structured and joyful classroom, and use data to drive student achievement. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned high school history lessons.
- Create a structured, culturally responsive, and positive classroom environment.
- Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction.
- Design and grade assessments, essays, and projects.
- Collaborate with teachers and leaders on curriculum and school initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
- Provide extra help, tutoring, or office hours as needed.
- Participate in professional development, coaching, and observations.
- Contribute to school culture, events, and advisory responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with school and state policies.
