Uncommon Schools seeks a High School History Teacher to deliver rigorous, college-preparatory instruction to students in underserved communities. You will design engaging, standards-aligned lessons in U.S. and world history, foster a structured and joyful classroom, and use data to drive student achievement. Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned high school history lessons.
  • Create a structured, culturally responsive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction.
  • Design and grade assessments, essays, and projects.
  • Collaborate with teachers and leaders on curriculum and school initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
  • Provide extra help, tutoring, or office hours as needed.
  • Participate in professional development, coaching, and observations.
  • Contribute to school culture, events, and advisory responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with school and state policies.
