Uncommon Schools seeks a mission-driven High School Science Teacher to deliver rigorous, college-preparatory instruction in our public charter schools. You will design standards-aligned lessons and labs, use data to drive instruction, and maintain a structured, joyful classroom that supports students from historically underserved communities. Collaborating with a highly supportive, equity-focused team, you'll receive coaching, professional development, and leadership pathways while building strong relationships with students and families to drive exceptional academic results.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned high school science lessons
  • Design and oversee safe, engaging laboratory experiences
  • Use assessments and data to adjust instruction and track student progress
  • Create a structured, culturally responsive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with grade-level and content teams on curriculum and interventions
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and goals
  • Participate in coaching, observations, and professional development sessions
  • Contribute to school culture through advisories, events, and duties
