Apprentice Teacher

Uncommon Schools seeks an Apprentice Teacher to support high-quality, college-preparatory instruction in our network of public charter schools. As an Apprentice Teacher, you will work alongside an experienced lead teacher, assisting with lesson delivery, small-group instruction, and classroom management while learning core teaching practices. You will help track student data, support behavior systems, and communicate with families as needed. Through consistent coaching, observations, and professional development, you will build the skills and mindset needed to grow into a lead teaching role and advance educational equity for underserved students.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers with daily instruction and classroom routines
• Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
• Assist with grading, data collection, and student progress tracking
• Implement behavior and classroom management systems with fidelity
• Participate in coaching, professional development, and observations
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to meet student needs
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues
