Apprentice Teacher

Uncommon Schools seeks an Apprentice Teacher to support high-quality, college-preparatory instruction in our public charter schools. As an Apprentice Teacher, you will work closely with a lead teacher to deliver rigorous, engaging lessons, manage classroom routines, and provide targeted small-group and one-on-one support. You will use data to understand student progress, receive frequent coaching and feedback, and participate in ongoing professional development. This role is ideal for mission-driven, equity-focused aspiring educators committed to serving historically underserved communities and developing into a lead teacher role.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers with daily instruction and classroom routines
• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support to students
• Use data to help track student progress and adjust support
• Implement behavior and classroom management systems consistently
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive, rigorous learning environment
• Participate in professional development, coaching, and training sessions
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
