Apprentice Teacher

Uncommon Schools seeks an Apprentice Teacher to support rigorous, joyful classrooms in our college-preparatory charter schools. As an Apprentice Teacher, you will assist lead teachers with instruction, classroom management, and student support while learning best practices in a mission-driven, equity-focused environment. You will work directly with students in small groups, help track academic data, and reinforce high expectations for learning and behavior. Through frequent coaching, observations, and professional development, you will build the skills and experience needed to advance into a lead teaching role while making a meaningful impact on historically underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers in daily instruction and classroom management
• Lead small-group and one-on-one instruction with students
• Assist with grading, progress monitoring, and data tracking
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student achievement
• Participate in coaching, observations, and professional development
• Communicate with families as directed by lead teachers
• Uphold school culture, routines, and high expectations
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain organized learning spaces
