Maintenance Superintendent

CalPortland is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance operations at our mining and materials facilities. In this role, you will plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for mining, crushing, and processing equipment, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime. You will supervise maintenance teams, manage contractors, and drive safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborating closely with operations, you'll manage budgets, optimize asset performance, and support sustainable, innovative projects in a safety-focused, growth-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance teams for mining and processing facilities
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ensure safety, regulatory, MSHA, and OSHA compliance in all maintenance activities
• Optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime through proactive programs
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts, and vendor relationships
• Coordinate with operations to align maintenance work with production needs
• Implement continuous improvement and root cause analysis for recurring issues
• Oversee and evaluate contractors performing maintenance work
• Maintain accurate records using CMMS and maintenance documentation
• Support sustainability and innovation initiatives within maintenance operations
