Diesel Mechanic

Ryder System seeks a Diesel Mechanic for mobile maintenance supporting transportation and warehousing fleets. In this field/on-site role, you'll diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and material-handling equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, troubleshooting engines, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems, and documenting all work. You'll uphold Ryder's safety-first culture, deliver responsive customer service, and collaborate with dispatch and operations while growing your skills with modern diagnostic tools and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile diagnostics and repair on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections to Ryder standards
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools
• Document work performed, parts used, and inspection results in maintenance systems
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and compliant work area
• Coordinate with dispatch and operations to prioritize service calls and minimize downtime
• Communicate repair status and recommendations to customers and internal teams
