REACH Medical Holdings is hiring a Rotor Wing Pilot to support our air medical transport operations within Healthcare & Medical Services. Based in the Transportation & Logistics department, you will safely operate helicopters for emergency and interfacility missions, ensuring rapid response for critical patients. Responsibilities include preflight planning, safe flight operations, coordination with medical crews, adherence to FAA and company regulations, and rigorous safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for air medical helicopter missions, including emergency scene responses and interfacility transports
  • Perform comprehensive preflight planning, including weather evaluation, weight and balance, performance calculations, and route selection
  • Conduct preflight and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness, equipment readiness, and required documentation compliance
  • Make safe, timely go/no-go and in-flight decisions based on weather, operational risks, and patient transport priorities
  • Operate the helicopter in accordance with FAA regulations, company operations manuals, and industry best practices, maintaining strict safety margins
  • Coordinate closely with flight nurses, paramedics, communication centers, and ground agencies to support efficient mission execution
  • Maintain proficiency in VFR and IFR procedures, including night and NVG operations as required by the base or mission profile
  • Participate actively in the company safety management system, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety reporting
  • Attend and complete all required recurrent training, check rides, and competency checks to sustain high levels of flight proficiency
  • Document flight activities, logs, and required reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support and model a safety-first, team-oriented culture consistent with REACH Air's values and expectations

Required Skills

  • Helicopter flight operations and aircraft systems knowledge
  • Advanced aeronautical decision-making and risk management
  • Instrument flight rules (IFR) and visual flight rules (VFR) proficiency
  • Weight and balance, performance, and fuel planning calculations
  • Night and NVG (Night Vision Goggle) flight experience
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM) and effective cockpit communication
  • Air medical/EMS or HAA operational procedures
  • Weather analysis and interpretation for rotary-wing operations
  • Use of aviation navigation systems, GPS, and avionics suites
  • Regulatory knowledge of FAA Part 135 or equivalent air carrier operations
  • Technical report writing and accurate logbook/documentation skills
  • Emergency procedures and abnormal operations handling
