Mechanic

GTS Interior Supply is seeking a hands-on Mechanic to maintain and repair our delivery trucks, forklifts, and material-handling equipment supporting wholesale building materials distribution. In this on-site role, you'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel and gas vehicles, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems to keep our fleet safe and reliable. You'll work closely with operations and drivers in a collaborative, safety-focused culture, supporting contractors on projects that shape local communities while building a stable, long-term career in the construction supply industry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair company trucks, forklifts, and material-handling equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems using appropriate tools and diagnostics
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts usage documentation
• Coordinate with operations and drivers to prioritize repairs and keep deliveries on schedule
• Follow all safety, OSHA, and company maintenance standards and procedures
• Order and track parts and supplies as needed, managing basic inventory for the shop
• Support pre-trip/post-trip inspections and address identified issues promptly
• Keep the shop and work areas organized, safe, and compliant with company policies
• Collaborate with team members and vendors to resolve complex mechanical issues
