About the Opportunity

An established medical group in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a qualified Pulmonology Physician Assistant to join their dedicated pulmonary subspecialty care team. This full-time, direct-hire role offers a collaborative clinical environment focusing on outpatient pulmonary management, diagnostic evaluation, and chronic respiratory care alongside experienced Pulmonologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical evaluations, consultations, and routine follow-up care for adult patients with respiratory conditions (e.g., COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, sarcoidosis, post-acute pulmonary care).
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gases (ABGs), chest X-rays, and chest CT scans.
  • Formulate evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe maintenance and acute medications, and manage outpatient oxygen therapy/durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding inhaler techniques, smoking cessation, and chronic disease self-management.
  • Collaborate closely with attending Pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and care coordination staff.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
  • Active, unencumbered New York State Physician Assistant License.
  • NCCPA Certification (PA-C).
  • Active New York DEA registration and Prescriptive Authority.
  • Prior clinical experience or rotation exposure in Pulmonology, Critical Care, or Internal Medicine is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a strong plus in this community.
