About the Opportunity
A leading outpatient pain management center in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a qualified Pain Management Physician Assistant to join their multidisciplinary clinical team. This full-time, direct-hire role focuses on interventional spine and pain care, comprehensive patient evaluations, joint/soft tissue injections, and restorative therapy plans alongside experienced Pain Management Physicians and Physiatrists.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, diagnostic workups, and routine follow-up visits for adult patients with acute, chronic, and spinal pain conditions.
- Perform in-office procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and tendon sheath injections under clinical or ultrasound guidance.
- Assist attending physicians with fluoroscopically guided interventional procedures (e.g., epidurals, facet blocks, radiofrequency ablations) as needed.
- Manage multi-modal pain treatment plans, including responsible pharmacotherapy, physical therapy referrals, and non-pharmacologic modalities.
- Oversee controlled substance compliance protocols, including routine urine drug testing and New York Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PDMP) reviews.
- Complete detailed and timely documentation in the practice s electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
- Active, unencumbered New York State Physician Assistant License.
- NCCPA Certification (PA-C).
- Active New York DEA registration and Prescriptive Authority.
- Prior clinical experience or rotation exposure in Pain Management, PM&R, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, or Urgent Care is highly preferred.
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a strong plus in this community setting.
