Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine Physician Assistant

A New Jersey-based health services network is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in a Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU. This role involves supporting newborn care, attending deliveries, and responding to neonatal emergencies in a collaborative clinical environment.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day or Nights
• Schedule: Flexible (a combination of day shifts, night shifts, and occasional 24-hour shifts, including weekdays and weekends)
• Hours: 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
• Setting: Inpatient hospital

Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage for the well-baby nursery and Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU
• Attend deliveries, including cesarean sections, high-risk vaginal deliveries, and deliveries requested by obstetrics
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and respond to neonatal emergencies
• Evaluate, manage, and round on newborns with clinical concerns
• Collaborate with obstetrics, labor and delivery staff, and nursing teams to support newborn care and coordinate transfers when needed

Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Relevant experience in a Neonatal and/or Pediatric role/setting
• Ability to independently assess and manage newborn patients
• Comfort with performing neonatal resuscitation

Desired Skills:

• Experience in a Level II Nursery or NICU
• Experience working in a Locum Tenens setting
• Familiarity with Epic
• Experience supporting deliveries in an inpatient newborn care environment
