Exelon is hiring a Lead Building Engineer to oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical building systems supporting a major utility. In this on-site role, you will lead HVAC, electrical, and mechanical system performance, manage preventive maintenance, and respond to building emergencies to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance. You will supervise technicians, coordinate contractors, and identify upgrades that enhance energy efficiency and support Exelon's clean energy and grid modernization goals. Collaborating across teams, you'll help deliver reliable, sustainable workplaces for Exelon's customers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operation, maintenance, and repair of building mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems in Exelon facilities
  • Monitor and optimize energy use to support reliability, sustainability, and cost efficiency goals
  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to ensure safe, compliant building operations
  • Supervise and mentor building engineering staff and coordinate work with contractors and vendors
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans and maintain accurate service records
  • Collaborate with operations, safety, and facilities teams to support grid and critical infrastructure needs
  • Respond to building system emergencies and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime
  • Recommend and implement system upgrades and efficiency improvements aligned with clean energy initiatives
