Light Diesel Mechanic

Marvin is seeking a Light Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet and support equipment running reliably for our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will diagnose and repair light diesel engines, drivetrains, electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems on trucks, lifts, and plant support vehicles. You will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs while maintaining accurate service records. Working on-site in a safety-focused, people-first environment, you'll collaborate with operations and facilities teams, support continuous improvement, and grow your skills with a stable, family-owned manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair light diesel engines, drivetrains, and related systems for company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, brake, and suspension systems using appropriate tools and manuals.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure all repairs meet company, DOT, and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage in the CMMS or similar system.
• Collaborate with operations and facilities teams to prioritize repairs and minimize production disruption.
• Order or request parts, maintain shop tools, and keep work areas clean and compliant with safety policies.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in reliability, standard work, and shop organization.
