Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer hauling flatbed freight such as steel and building materials across regional and/or nationwide routes
  • Secure, tarp, and protect flatbed loads in full compliance with company policies and DOT regulations
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability
  • Adhere to all FMCSA, DOT, and company safety standards, including hours-of-service and ELD requirements
  • Plan routes, manage time efficiently, and meet scheduled pickup and delivery windows while prioritizing safety
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and operations regarding load status, delays, and issues
  • Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and required documentation for each trip
  • Care for and properly operate modern company equipment, reporting maintenance needs promptly
  • Represent Boyd Bros. with professionalism, courtesy, and a driver-first attitude at customer locations and on the road
  • Participate in ongoing safety training, coaching, and performance programs to support continuous improvement
