Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A tractor trailer safely to transport time sensitive freight between designated locations in the U.
- S., Canada, and Mexico
- Conduct thorough pre trip, en route, and post trip inspections of tractor, trailer, and equipment, reporting any defects promptly
- Comply with all DOT regulations, Hours of Service rules, and MVT safety policies at all times
- Use electronic logging devices and on board technology to maintain accurate logs, trip records, and communication with dispatch
- Plan routes and manage driving time to ensure on time pickups and deliveries while maximizing safety and efficiency
- Secure and protect freight, verify load documentation, and ensure proper load distribution within legal weight limits
- Practice defensive driving and hazard awareness in all weather, traffic, and road conditions to prevent accidents and incidents
- Communicate professionally with customers, shippers, receivers, and MVT team members, representing the company with respect and courtesy
- Follow company fuel efficiency and eco driving practices, including optimal speed management and route planning
- Participate in required safety meetings, training, and ongoing professional development to maintain compliance and improve performance
