Intermountain Health seeks a compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care across acute and critical care settings. In this patient-centered, team-based role, you will perform respiratory assessments, manage ventilators and non-invasive ventilation, respond to emergencies, and deliver therapeutic interventions in collaboration with physicians and nurses. You will educate patients and families, ensure safe and effective use of respiratory equipment, and contribute to quality and process-improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and deliver evidence-based therapies, including oxygen, aerosol, and airway management
  • Initiate, manage, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation in collaboration with physicians and critical care teams
  • Administer and monitor respiratory treatments, including nebulizer therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and chest physiotherapy
  • Interpret arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and other diagnostics to guide respiratory care plans
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies, including rapid response and code blue situations, providing advanced airway support
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and home-care strategies to promote self-management
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and revise individualized respiratory care plans
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and readiness for use
  • Support quality improvement, infection prevention, and evidence-based practice initiatives within the respiratory care department
