Intermountain Health seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver evidence-based respiratory care in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The RRT will perform assessments; administer oxygen and aerosol therapies; manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation; obtain and interpret ABGs; and respond to rapid response and code events. This role works closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory outcomes, educate patients and families, and support quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based respiratory care including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and airway management across acute and critical care settings.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust invasive and noninvasive ventilators in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
- Obtain, analyze, and interpret arterial blood gases, making appropriate therapy recommendations.
- Perform respiratory assessments, develop and update care plans, and document care in the EMR accurately and timely.
- Participate in rapid response and code situations, providing advanced airway and ventilatory support.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper infection control of respiratory equipment and devices.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members in a patient-centered, mission-driven environment.
- Support quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice within the department.
- Precept or mentor students and new therapists as assigned, supporting continuous learning and development.
