Rotor Wing Pilot in Command
Intermountain Health seeks a Rotor Wing Pilot in Command to provide safe, efficient air medical transport in our Healthcare & Medical Services, Transportation & Logistics team. Based in a patient-centered, mission-driven environment, you will conduct rotor-wing flights for emergent and non-emergent transports, ensuring rigorous compliance with FAA and company policies. Responsibilities include pre-flight planning, weather evaluation, safe operation of aircraft in varied terrain and conditions, active participation in safety and quality programs, and effective crew resource management with clinical teams. You'll represent Intermountain Health with professionalism and compassion while supporting continuous improvement and community health across the region.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command for rotor-wing air medical missions, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance
- Conduct thorough pre-flight planning, including weather, route, fuel, performance, and risk assessment
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections and ensure airworthiness documentation is current
- Operate the aircraft under VFR/IFR as authorized, in diverse terrain and environmental conditions, within company and FAA regulations
- Apply crew resource management (CRM) principles, collaborating closely with medical crew and communications/dispatch
- Continuously monitor and mitigate operational risk, participating in the safety management system and reporting programs
- Maintain accurate flight, duty-time, and maintenance logs in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Support patient-centered operations by coordinating effectively with ground teams, hospitals, and communications centers
- Participate in ongoing training, check rides, and proficiency programs to sustain high skill and safety standards
- Represent Intermountain Health's mission, values, and service culture in all patient and community interactions
