Intermountain Health seeks a Rotor Wing Pilot in Command to support air medical transport within our Healthcare & Medical Services system. Based in the Transportation & Logistics department, you will safely operate rotor-wing aircraft for time-critical patient transfers, collaborating with flight nurses, medics, and dispatch to deliver mission-driven, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include preflight planning, executing IFR/VFR flights, strict adherence to FARs and HEMS protocols, and proactive risk management. Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command for rotor-wing air medical transport missions, ensuring safety as the top priority.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, including weather, fuel, performance, and risk assessment.
- Operate aircraft under IFR/VFR in compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and HEMS protocols.
- Collaborate closely with medical crew, dispatch, and ground teams to coordinate safe, timely patient transport.
- Maintain accurate flight, maintenance, and incident documentation as required by regulations and policy.
- Participate in ongoing training, check rides, and safety programs, including CRM and NVG (if applicable).
- Monitor aircraft systems and coordinate with maintenance to ensure airworthiness and readiness.
- Exercise sound aeronautical decision-making, including go/no-go decisions and alternate planning.
- Support a patient-centered, compassionate culture aligned with Intermountain Health's mission and values.
- Represent Intermountain Health professionally with patients, families, and partner agencies.
