Academic Tutor and Mentor

City Year seeks an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. Serving on a diverse AmeriCorps team, you will provide individualized and small-group tutoring, mentor students to build positive habits, and assist teachers in creating an engaging classroom environment. You will track student progress, participate in school-wide initiatives, and collaborate with teammates to address student needs. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects
• Mentor students to build confidence, attendance, and positive classroom behavior
• Support teachers with classroom activities and learning interventions
• Track and document student progress and participation
• Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year team members
• Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Assist with after-school or enrichment programs as needed
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and equity-focused school climate
