City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role within the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you'll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, assist teachers in the classroom, track student progress, and lead enrichment and after school activities. You'll build trusting relationships with students, serve as a positive role model, and collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team. Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects
  • Support classroom instruction in partnership with teachers
  • Monitor and track student academic and engagement data
  • Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive habits
  • Communicate regularly with school staff about student progress
  • Help plan and lead after-school or enrichment programs
  • Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions
  • Collaborate closely with a diverse Ameri
  • Corps service team
  • Engage families and community partners when appropriate

Required Skills
