Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you will serve full-time in a partner public school, providing daily academic, social-emotional, and attendance support to students. You will tutor in core subjects, lead small groups, and build trusting relationships that foster student confidence and engagement. Working on a diverse AmeriCorps team, you'll collaborate closely with teachers and school staff, use data to inform interventions, and help coordinate school-wide activities. City Year offers robust training, leadership development, and a collaborative, equity-driven culture focused on social justice and student success.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to support academic, social, and emotional growth
• Provide in-class support through tutoring, small-group activities, and behavior reinforcement
• Track student progress and use data to inform interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and Ameri
• Corps teammates to align support
• Communicate with families and community partners to strengthen student success
• Model positive behavior and foster an inclusive, equity-focused classroom climate
• Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development
• Support school-wide initiatives, events, and attendance or behavior campaigns
