Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you'll serve full-time in a public school, providing tutoring, small-group instruction, and mentorship to help students stay on track academically and socially. You will build positive relationships, support classroom activities, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers and teammates to create an inclusive learning environment. City Year offers robust training, coaching, and leadership development while you make a meaningful impact on students and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects
• Mentor students to support social-emotional growth and engagement
• Collaborate with teachers to reinforce classroom instruction
• Track and report student progress and attendance
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom and school climate
• Assist with school-wide events, activities, and family engagement
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflection sessions
• Use digital tools to document interventions and outcomes
• Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs
• Model leadership, professionalism, and service values
