Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you'll serve full-time in a partner public school to help students thrive. You'll provide daily academic and social-emotional support, track progress, and collaborate with teachers to deliver targeted interventions. In this role, you'll build strong relationships with students, lead small groups, and support classroom activities. Responsibilities

• Provide daily mentoring and academic support to middle and high school students
• Monitor student attendance, behavior, and coursework, using data to guide interventions
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement student support plans
• Lead small-group tutoring, social-emotional learning, and enrichment activities
• Build trusting relationships with students and families to encourage engagement
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom and school climate
• Document student progress and participate in regular team meetings
• Engage in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development
