Academic Tutor and Mentor

As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year, you'll serve in public schools to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. Working within the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you'll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring, mentor students, and assist teachers with classroom activities. You'll track student progress, help create an inclusive, positive learning environment, and participate in ongoing professional development. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects
• Mentor students to support social-emotional growth and school engagement
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and learning activities
• Track and document student progress and attendance data
• Collaborate with school staff and City Year team members on support plans
• Help create an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with supervisors about student needs and progress
• Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Support school-wide events, enrichment activities, and family outreach
• Model leadership, respect, and commitment to educational equity
