Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you'll serve full-time in a partner public school, providing academic support, mentoring, and social-emotional coaching to help students stay on track to graduate. Working in a diverse AmeriCorps team, you'll tutor in core subjects, lead small groups, support classroom instruction, and help manage whole-school activities. You'll build relationships with students, teachers, and families, track student progress, and connect learners with resources. Responsibilities

• Provide daily in-class support and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects
• Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement
• Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems
• Collaborate with teachers to reinforce classroom instruction and behavior expectations
• Support after-school or enrichment programs, clubs, and school-wide events
• Communicate with families and school staff to coordinate student support
• Participate in ongoing City Year and Ameri
• Corps trainings and professional development
• Model equity-focused, inclusive, and culturally responsive practices
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative Ameri
• Corps team environment
• Assist with outreach and service projects that strengthen the school community
