Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you will serve in a partner public school, providing academic support, mentoring, and engagement for students. You will work closely with teachers to deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring, track student progress, and facilitate social-emotional learning activities. In City Year's collaborative, inclusive culture, you will receive training, coaching, and leadership development while contributing to a more just and equitable education system and helping students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in core subjects
• Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive school engagement
• Collaborate with teachers to identify student needs and track progress
• Facilitate classroom activities and enrichment programs
• Monitor, record, and report on student performance and attendance
• Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year teammates
• Support school-wide events, initiatives, and positive school climate efforts
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development
• Use basic data tools to inform interventions and measure impact
• Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and equity-focused practices
