Academic Tutor

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to support student achievement
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model, building strong, trusting relationships with students
• Support teachers with classroom activities, behavior management, and lesson reinforcement
• Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems
• Collaborate with teammates and school staff to plan interventions and enrichment activities
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment aligned with City Year's values
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Engage with families and school partners to support student success when appropriate
