Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you will support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this role, you'll provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring, mentoring, and classroom support while collaborating closely with teachers and school staff. You will track student progress, communicate with families, and contribute to a positive school climate. City Year offers a collaborative, inclusive environment focused on social justice, leadership development, and professional growth through ongoing training and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor middle and high school students to support academic and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to monitor student progress and identify support needs
• Facilitate small-group and one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions
• Track student data and document interventions to measure impact
• Engage families and caregivers to support students' success
• Promote an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment
• Participate in City Year trainings, reflection, and leadership development activities
• Support school-wide events, activities, and positive school climate initiatives
