Academic Tutor

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects
• Support teachers with in-class activities and classroom management
• Monitor, track, and report on student progress and attendance
• Build strong, mentoring relationships with students to foster social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with school staff and City Year teams to implement support plans
• Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and school partners
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and equitable school climate
• Model leadership, professionalism, and civic engagement
• Assist with school-wide events, interventions, and enrichment activities
