As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you will serve full-time in a partner public school, providing academic and social-emotional support to students. You'll tutor in core subjects, lead small-group interventions, and mentor students to build attendance, engagement, and confidence. Working on a diverse AmeriCorps team, you'll collaborate with teachers, track student progress, and help run after-school and enrichment programs. Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects
  • Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging
  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, and progress; share updates with school staff
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities, behavior support, and learning interventions
  • Plan and facilitate after-school or enrichment programs and homework help sessions
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and school partners
  • Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions
  • Collect and record data on student performance and intervention outcomes
  • Support school-wide events, initiatives, and positive school climate efforts
