As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year, you will serve in a public school providing daily academic support, mentoring, and encouragement to help students reach their goals. Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects

  • Support classroom instruction in partnership with teachers
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress and engagement
  • Facilitate enrichment or homework help sessions before or after school
  • Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs
  • Participate in City Year training, coaching, and professional development

  • Model positive behavior and promote an inclusive, respectful classroom culture
  • Engage families and community partners when appropriate to support students
