Academic Tutor and Mentor

As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year, you will serve in a public school providing daily academic support, mentoring, and encouragement to help students reach their goals. You'll tutor in core subjects, lead small-group activities, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to reinforce classroom learning. Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects
• Mentor students to build confidence, motivation, and social-emotional skills
• Support classroom instruction in partnership with teachers
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress and engagement
• Facilitate enrichment or homework help sessions before or after school
• Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs
• Participate in City Year training, coaching, and professional development
• Collaborate with fellow Ameri
• Corps members on schoolwide initiatives
• Model positive behavior and promote an inclusive, respectful classroom culture
• Engage families and community partners when appropriate to support students
