Student Success Counselor

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you will serve full time in partner schools to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. You'll build strong relationships, provide one-on-one and small group tutoring, monitor attendance, and coach students in goal-setting and positive behavior. Working within a diverse AmeriCorps team, you'll collaborate with teachers, support classroom activities, and help lead after-school and enrichment programs. Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group academic tutoring to students during and after school
• Mentor students to support social-emotional development, goal-setting, and positive behavior
• Monitor student attendance and engagement, and help implement strategies to improve both
• Support classroom instruction in partnership with teachers and school staff
• Assist with planning and leading after-school, enrichment, and service-learning activities
• Track student progress and document interventions and outcomes as directed

• Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
