Academic Tutor

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Responsibilities

• Provide daily one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to K-12 students
• Reinforce classroom lessons and support teachers with academic interventions
• Monitor and document student progress using school and City Year tools
• Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement
• Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and families as appropriate
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
• Model inclusivity, equity, and a growth mindset in all student interactions
• Support school-wide activities, events, and positive school climate initiatives
