Building Technician

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks a Full Time Building Technician to keep our healthcare and social service facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. In this mission-driven role, you'll perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and minor renovations on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems across LSS locations. You'll respond to work orders and facility emergencies, coordinate vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and building codes. Working in a faith-inspired, trauma-informed, and inclusive culture, you'll directly support staff and clients by maintaining secure, comfortable environments for care.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems
• Complete work orders, repairs, and minor renovations in resident and program spaces
• Monitor and maintain building security, lighting, and access systems to support a safe environment
• Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and inventory of supplies
• Respond to facility emergencies, on-call issues, and urgent repair needs promptly
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and building codes and LSS facility standards
• Support space moves, furniture setups, and special projects for programs and events
