Lutheran Social Services is seeking a Crisis Response professional to provide immediate support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health or housing-related crises. In this role, you will conduct risk and safety assessments, de-escalate high-stress situations, and coordinate emergency services, hospitalization, or shelter placement as needed. You'll collaborate closely with LSS behavioral health, housing, and family services teams to ensure follow-up care, document interventions in electronic records, and connect clients with community resources. Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis calls and referrals, providing immediate assessment, de-escalation, and safety planning for individuals and families.
  • Conduct risk assessments for suicide, self-harm, and violence, determining appropriate level of care and intervention.
  • Coordinate emergency services, hospitalization, or shelter placement in collaboration with internal teams and community partners.
  • Document all contacts, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely in electronic records.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health, housing, and family services staff to ensure continuity of care and follow-up.
  • Provide brief counseling, resource linkage, and advocacy to support client stabilization and recovery.
  • Participate in on-call or shift-based coverage, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Engage in regular supervision, team meetings, and case reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
