Lutheran Social Services seeks a Crisis Response professional to provide immediate, trauma-informed support to individuals and families experiencing mental health, housing, or safety crises. In this role, you will conduct rapid risk assessments, de-escalate high-stress situations, develop safety plans, and connect clients to behavioral health, housing, and community resources. Working within a mission-driven, faith-based, and client-centered culture, you'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain detailed documentation, and support on-call or rotating coverage to ensure timely, compassionate response across our service area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning for individuals and families in acute distress
  • Conduct rapid assessments of risk, mental health, and basic needs to determine appropriate level of care
  • Coordinate referrals and warm handoffs to behavioral health, housing, medical, and social service resources
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency, funder, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including clinicians, case managers, and community partners
  • Participate in on-call or rotating shift coverage to ensure timely crisis response
  • Educate clients and families on coping skills, available resources, and follow-up care plans
  • Engage clients using trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered practices
