Lutheran Social Services seeks a Crisis Response professional to provide immediate, trauma-informed support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health, housing, or family crises. In this mission-driven role, you will respond to crisis calls and referrals, conduct risk and safety assessments, de-escalate situations, and develop short-term stabilization plans. You will coordinate warm handoffs to LSS behavioral health, housing, and family services, as well as community partners. Working within a compassionate, faith-informed, and inclusive culture, you'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain timely documentation, and participate in on-call or rotating shifts. Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis calls and referrals, providing immediate de-escalation and emotional support
  • Conduct risk and safety assessments for individuals and families in crisis
  • Develop short-term safety and stabilization plans with clients and support networks
  • Coordinate referrals and warm handoffs to behavioral health, housing, and community resources
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary LSS teams and external partners (law enforcement, hospitals, shelters)
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case records in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
  • Participate in on-call or rotating shifts, including evenings/weekends as needed
  • Engage clients with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approach
  • Support follow-up contacts to monitor safety and connect clients to ongoing services
  • Contribute to team case reviews, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
